Preserving A Picturesque America

French Broad Exhibition

Preserving A Picturesque America (PAPA) is having its inaugural art sale and exhibition–entitled “Preservation Through Art: Along the French Broad”–from September 16th until October 27th at the Cloud Room at the Wedge at Foundation. Many local artists have contributed works of art in a variety of mediums, depicting scenes along the French Broad River from the original 1870s publication “Picturesque America” to reveal how these natural landscapes appear today, and for the purpose of protecting them.

The art sale and exhibition is PAPA’s major fundraiser, where proceeds from the sale of artwork will support PAPA with its ongoing mission as well as organizations such as RiverlinkAsheville GreenworksMountainTrue, the Appalachian Trail ConservancyFriends of Pisgah National Forest, and Friends of Chimney Rock State Park to help with their protection efforts of places along the French Broad River and the health of the river itself. Come support the generous artists who have given their time and talents to protect special places along the river that meanders through the beautiful mountains we call home. Also, please support the Wedge Brewery for their generosity of providing us with a wonderful exhibit space. We truly appreciate their support for our project.
